Here at MissionGO in Mokanji, Sierra Leone, we are committed to making a positive impact in this community and the many surrounding villages, both spiritually and physically.
MissionGO (MGO) has been in Sierra Leone since 2002. Shortly after the civil war ended, MGO provided many water wells in Sierra Leone, but unfortunately, safe drinking water is still a serious problem with many remote villages still using unsafe water. Currently, two crews are working in remote villages to dig and deepen wells to provide fresh water where none exists.
MissionGO staff works with local pastors and community leaders—first, to find villages without safe drinking water, and second, to make an agreement to dig a well (complete with a hand pump). Additionally, wells that go dry are deepened, and repairs and upgrades to existing wells are completed to ensure safe water. The Good News of Jesus Christ is shared at the initial visit and again when the well is finished! This has been an incredible ministry, providing a crucial resource for a healthier life for many, not only physically but also spiritually!
Unfortunately, many remote villages still lack a well to provide safe drinking water. This presents an opportunity for you, your church, and others to prayerfully consider supporting us in this ongoing ministry. Currently, the cost of a new well is 7,100 USD.
